Today is the octave day of the Epiphany under the 1954 (double major) rubrics, retitled the Commemoration of the Baptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ under the 1962 (II class) rubrics.
Mass: Proper Mass. All as at the Mass of the Epiphany with proper Gospel. White. Gloria. Gradual/Alleluia. Credo. Preface of the Epiphany. Proper Communicantes for the Epiphany in the Canon (1954 only). Ite. No commemorations or additional prayers.
Office: Under 1954, proper festal office as on the feast of the Epiphany. White. Matins of 3 nocturns of 9 proper lessons [1st nocturn = Incipit Epistola prima ad Corinthios from occurring Scripture for the Sunday within the octave of the Epiphany with responsory of the octave]). Matins begins as usual with Domine, labia, etc., Invitatory, and hymn. Proper psalms and antiphons at Matins. At beginning of the 3rd nocturn, use antiphon Homo natus for the days within the octave. Te Deum. At Lauds and the hours, psalms of Sunday (Prime = 53, 118.1, 118.2) with antiphons of the Epiphany. All else from the proper. Proper collect of the octave day. No commemorations at Lauds.
