Life is for everyone.

The position for life, the decision for life, is not religious right, religious left or religious at all.

The decision for life is a reasonable act of the intellect. The human intellect by the light of natural reason alone is capable of understanding that either all life is good and worthy of protecting, defending and respecting or none is so.

People of faith should be the first to enunciate this truth.

Life will triumph. Love is stronger than hate.

Humanae Vitae is right.

John Paul the Great in Evangelium Vitae said that what is necessary is a general mobilization of consciences to defend the right to life. I believe the right to life especially of the unborn, the handicapped, and the elderly is the most important and crucial moral battle that we are facing.

Pope Paul VI in Humanae Vitae warned that acceptance of artificial contraception would lead to acceptance of abortion and other great evils. It has. And now the death of the sick and elderly is being sanctioned as evidenced by those states that have legalized "assisted suicide."

We all need to utilize God's gifts to us and join the battle against the culture of death to restore the culture of respect for each human life.

Each of us can play a part in this battle no matter what our state in life. Mothers and Fathers can lead their families in a weekly rosary for protection of the right to life; some can protest, pray, and counsel outside of abortion clinics; and some can counsel pregnant women in unplanned pregnancies. The sick and suffering can unite their struggles with Christ's in an offering to God for the ultimate victory of life and for the conversion of those who promote euthanasia, abortion, and infanticide.

And we can vote to elect the politician who will do the most to limit these evils even if they can't be overcome immediately. John Paul II in Evangelium Vitae said that it is morally permissible to vote for a candidate who supports imperfect legislation that limits the amount of evil done if it is not possible to totally eliminate it.

Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life has begun a video campaign to educate the general public and challenge pro-abortion politicians and voters to understand what abortion really is.

These videos are part of a new project called, "Is This What You Mean?" It aims to educate the public about the nature of abortion and to challenge public officials and candidates who support the legality of abortion to admit what it is. A full description of the project is at www.priestsforlife.org/action/abortion-procedure-revealed.htm.

I am requesting that you post links on your blog to these two videos and/or to the full explanation of this powerful project.

We in the pro-life community have been fed up for a long time with “public servants” who can’t seem to tell the difference between serving the public and killing the public. This election season, it’s time for that to change. No matter what politicians or voters or Church officials are or are not going to do, it’s time that we who know what abortion is, draw a line in the sand and give candidates and office-holders alike this challenge.

If you will help spread the word by posting these links please email webmaster@priestsforlife.org.
