Paestum, 6th century B.C.

Paestum, or Poseidonia, is well known for the temple structures surviving in their entirety and has roots going back to before its days in the 6th century before Christ both as an important port of Magna Graecia, or the greater Greek empire, and later passing into Roman hands with the rise of that empire.
